travel with finesse

australian born marc newson is one of designs tremendously talented. some may agree or not, but as one of designs significant and prominent international stars he has had an ambitious career. mr. ultra-hip is creating curvilinear trends in every avenue of design from bicycles, cars, interiors, lighting, furniture, museum exhibits, planes + pop culture [hello? madonna videos, austin powers movies], watches and now…suitcases. yup, you heard me. samsonite to be exact.

unexpected shapes, ultramodern technology and a bit of quirky fun. this is 'scope', the new 25 inch and 8 pounder samsonite black label collection designed by monsieur marc newson, is all about travel in flash [hence the bright colours] of course with a dash of ease and ultramodern sophistication. his exclusive design is fabricated with a unique 600 denier polyester foam like fabric and technical precision. the outer shell includes an ergonomic pull handle and over-sized color-coordinated wheels full of style and function. top and side carry handles provide versatile carry options with a combination lock. a sleek interior boasts a removable floating divider with mesh pockets for organization.

and it is available in array of striking colors: grey, blue, orange or yellow – yellow, now that’s the one for my little guy. and for me i really really dig the matching 'scope duffle bag', which i have only seen available online at moss nyc [$140.00 US]. there is a minimal backpack too.

if you need a little design fix, try these firms that have snatched up a design or two of his to call their own.
