lux style

the modern living shopping experience is rapidly establishing itself in many homes around us. by mixing fashion and interior design, they are utilizing the innovative and unique philosophy of offering products for all aspects of living i.e. sleeping, eating, bathing and playing. as stores begin to cater to all levels of lifestyle, this attitude filters into our homes, offices and the public spaces that surround us. they carefully target their collections and branding becomes very important, extending its self to the stores' exterior. the interiors are simply designed to complement the style of the merchandise - modern, edited and a product of excellent design, quality and value.
the lifestyle stores could possibly be compared to something of a mini-department store that specializes in a key look. this simple equation can prove itself by the fact that if a customer likes the look they can buy anything they want. if people are attracted to fashion, they will be drawn into the lifestyle store and become captivated by home décor. those that are fixated with home décor are already in the store; always looking for something new and extraordinary, these places fit their requirements. thus you have caban a spin-off of our famous club moneco and founded by canada’s leader of design joseph mimran, this lifestyle shop offers unique home accessories, furnishings and laid back fashions. the concept presents elements of style for modern living by focusing on innovative design and affordable price points while creating a complete shopping experience. with 8 location saccoss Canada and soon to be filtering in to the US, it was eventually sold to the polo ralph lauren corporation [NYSE: RL] in may of 1999.

caban throws ranging from $39.00 - $100.00 wool, mohair, melange + chunky knits with details. available in various colours, blends and pattern mixes.

another unusual take on the philosophy is the chain of loblaws stores in canada who carry a private label of 'presidents choice' housewares and accessories. yes, our common grocery store has evolved. the concept for PC was recently developed for them via joseph mimran + associates showcasing a range of trendy small appliances, cookware, linens, decorative accents and more. PC is claming the selection is of top quality and value that canadians expect from presidents choice. the affordable line launched in fall 2005 in stores across the country and online. the only glitch in the project - the shopping experience is not fully available online.

Stainless steel pitcher, $19.99.

Hi Jules

I just came across your blog when 'googling' Koju designs. Great work!

I love that you have Love Jones, Blue Crush and Swingers among your fav movies. Love Jones is my all time fav. Swingers is up there and Blue Crush, well, I could never admit to how much I enjoy that movie!
